Hunza Rush Peak Expedition

Rush Peak is a highlight of trekking in the Hunza and Nagar regions, offering distant glimpses of K2 on clear days. The trek follows streams from Hoper Valley to Rush Lake, with a ridge trail providing stunning views of Hisper Gorge, Golden Peak, Malubiting, Miar, and peaks in Hunza and Nagar. On clear days, K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum IV are visible. The Hunza Rush Peak Expedition offers some of the Karakoram’s most magnificent views.

Rush Lake, a turquoise gem between Hispar Valley and the Barpu Glacier, offers an incredible 360° panorama from the 5098-meter-high Rush Peak. The trek starts from Hopper Valley, known for its terraced fields and fruit orchards. It’s ideal for both beginners and experienced trekkers, offering views of almost all main peaks in the region, including distant views of K2, Broad Peak, and the Hispar Muztagh massif.

The Rush Lake trek also includes the junction of the Barpu and Bualter Glaciers, with local legends adding a cultural touch. The trek’s highlight is the unparalleled view from Rush Peak, surrounded by peaks over 7000 meters and a glimpse of K2.

Rush Peak, in the Karakoram range of Nagar Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, is a remote trekking destination accessible via Hoper Glacier and Barpu Glacier. It’s relatively easy to climb in summer, often done by amateur climbers. From the summit, views of Miar Peak, Miar Glacier, and Phuparash Peak are stunning. At the base lies Rush Lake, one of the world’s highest alpine lakes at 4694 meters.

This trek is perfect for those seeking to experience the grandeur of the Karakoram range and its awe-inspiring mountain panoramas.
